The identification of a small panel of active ingredients in botanicals is not an easy task because botanicals are complex mixtures of compounds.

 

Years of research and testing on botanical compounds and a variety of formulations led SinoVeda’s scientists to invent the patent-pending Pharmaceutical Platform Technology or PPT®, which provides valuable clues to finding these panels of active ingredients. PPT® is a staged improvement of a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic model, a tool commonly used for drug discovery. SinoVeda has successfully applied PPT® to identify active ingredients and their potential interactions in complex mixtures. As a result, a pipeline of products based on rigorously tested, unique formulas has been established. These products are in the areas of: osteoporosis, arthritis, cardiovascular disease and central nervous system conditions and are at various stages of development. SinoVeda plans to develop pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter (“OTC”) botanical medicines for each candidate.
